”The most impressive footage on a climbing expedition. Clearly a different approach and much more observant than trying to produce a certain content. Congratulations to all participants for the very mature decision making and preparedness.”

”The quality of production is breathtaking and so is the content. I'm just in awe of mountaineers, endurance runners and athletes, these guys/gals train to constantly expand human limits and pushing right on the edge of being a pioneer or a death statistic. Salute to these super humans!”

FILM SYNOPSIS:
Ecuadorian mountain guide Topo Mena, a rising star in alpine climbing, harbors a dream to achieve the first ascent of a new route on Mount Everest. Joining forces with Cory Richards, a National Geographic photographer and the initial American to conquer an 8,000-meter peak in winter, they embark on a daring attempt on Everest's uncharted north face. Although their initial endeavor falls short, a resolute vow to return is made. However, with Everest inaccessible due to the global pandemic, the duo redirects their ambition towards a futuristic route on Dhaulagiri, the world's seventh-highest mountain.
This new ascent presents heightened challenges—greater difficulty and increased avalanche risk compared to Everest—prompting the recruitment of a third climber, Ecuadorian mountaineer Carla Perez. Carla, the first woman to successfully summit both Everest and K2 without supplemental oxygen in a single year, completes their trio. As the team faces the grim reality of mortal danger on Dhaulagiri, the climbers are compelled to confront the essence of their pursuits, questioning why they climb and whether the inherent risks are justified.
